Voice of Health

About
Voice of Health is a preventative mental health organisation that has developed a social platform in the form of a mobile app. The app provides a safe place where individuals can share with others, talk one-on-one with someone that understands them, talk without fear of judgement, utilise well-being tools and develop strategies to self-manage their own mental well-being.
Voice of Health attends to the need for an effective preventative mental health solution in the Australian and global community. They value the importance of lived experience, empathy, power of perspective and self-managing your own mental well-being.
Voice of Health successfully eliminates a number of barriers that prevent people from seeking support for their mental health. These include availability of healthcare professionals, location, time, financial restrictions, stigma concerns, preference to self-manage, physical challenge or disability.

What impact does your initiative aim to achieve?
Voice of Health consciously seeks to contribute to the evolution of the existing mental health system by offering an early intervention solution designed to enable individuals to self-manage their own mental health.
The model of support for self-management is one based on Active Listening. Active Listeners are selected based on their lived experience and are trained to listen, empathise, shift an individual’s perspective on their mental health and empower them to build greater confidence to self-manage.
What support do you need? How can others contribute?
Voice of Health is looking to connect and build partnerships with other mental health and well-being organisations around the globe. We believe that no single organisation can tackle the complexity of changing the mental health system alone. Through the collaboration of multiple "new paradigm" mental health organisations a new system can evolve. Please get in touch with us!
